Orbital Angular Momentum (OAM) Generation by Hemispherical Dielectric Resonator
2020
In this letter, a dielectric resonator antenna with orbital angular momentum (OAM) is proposed. The hemispherical dielectric resonator antenna (HDRA) is fed by microstrip through the slots representing port 1 and port 2, respectively. By feeding the slots with microstrip, two degenerate TE mnl modes can be obtained simultaneously. HDRA can generate an OAM mode of l = 2 at 5.8GHz. Similarly, a beam with an OAM l = 3 can be generated at 7.4GHz. Consequently, orbital angular momentum (OAM) generation by a hemispherical dielectric resonator antenna (HDRA) is a practial way.
