Implementing Watershed Management in Texas, PRP 105

This report on watershed management is the result of a policy research project conducted in 1992-93 under a grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority. Senate Bill 818, enacted by the 73rd Texas Legislature, called for assessments of water quality to be conducted on a watershed basis. The report evaluates the provisions of the law and its implementation in light of the national trend toward watershed management. The research was completed in early June 1993, so it does not reflect the many activities of the Texas Water Commission since that date.
