Effects of Different Additional Water Amount on Growing Period and Yield of Hot Pepper in Sandy-field

[Objective] The research aimed to find appropriate additional water amount for hot pepper.[Method] Through field trials,effects of different additional water amount on growing period,water use efficient and yield of hot pepper in sandy-field were studied.[Result] With additional water amount increased,not only growing period extended but also leaf area,plant height,photosynthetic rate and transpiration rate increased,which reached the best when additional water amount was 225-375 m3/hm2.WUE reached the maximum when additional water amount was 225 m3/hm2,and the yield was 21 000 kg/hm2 that was the highest when additional water amount reached 375 m3/hm2,value of output reached 18 000 yuan per hectare which was 102 000 yuan higher than watermelon.[Conclusion] To take into account the capacity of added moisture in sandy field was limited and hardly,appropriate additional water amount was 300-375 m3/hm2.
