Business Case for Integrated Technical Information for the Air Logistics Centers (ITI-ALC)

1996
Abstract : The objective of the Integrated Technical Information for the Air Logistics Centers (ITI-ALC) program was to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Air Force's depot maintenance process, with specific emphasis on Programmed Depot Maintenance (PDM) operations and with a limited look at component repair. The Business Case presents proposed process improvements for reducing operating expense, improving mechanic performance, and reducing the number of flow days for organic aircraft depot maintenance. This Business Case summarizes the approach the ITI-ALC team used to describe and analyze the organic aircraft PDM process in the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC). The Business Case identifies the objectives of the process. This document includes the cost of doing business in the organic aircraft PDM process as it currently exists at Sacramento Air Logistics Center (SM-ALC) and Warner-Robins Air Logistics Center (WR-ALC), as well as the expected cost of implementing the proposed process improvements. This provides a view of a potential privatization and organic depot.
