Syntheses and physical properties of quasi-one-dimensional halogen-bridged Cuii-Ptiv mixed-metal MX-chain compounds

Abstract We synthesized new halogen-bridged mixed-metal complexes [Cu(chxn) 2 ] [PtX 2 (chxn) 2 ]X 4 (X=C1, Br), and measured magnetic susceptibilities. The structures of [Cu(chxn) 2 ][PtX 2 (chxn) 2 ]X 4 consist of linear chains with Cu II ···X-Pt IV repeating units, which have tight hydrogen-bonds between ligands and counter anions and construct a twodimensional(2-D) hydrogen-bond network. Magnetic susceptibility measurements show weak antiferromagnetic behavior.
