Antenna design for ultra-wideband through wall radar

2017
A new type of magneto-electric dipole antenna used in Ultra-wideband Through-the-wall radar (UWB-TWR) is designed and fabricated. The antenna achieves a relative bandwidth of 66.67%, from 2.0 GHz to 4.0 GHz, and also has wide beam over the operating bandwidth. Based on its advantages, a one-output two-input antenna array is used in UWB-TWR, and helps to realize the detection and location of the multi-targets behind the wall. UWB-TWR with the antanna array can work well, which has been verified by the tests.
