Exploraciones arqueológicas de un paisaje prehispánico con arte rupestre en el Tolima

2019
This book includes an archaeological research process that began in 1971, about pre-Hispanic aesthetic expressions or representations in the territory of Tolima, Colombia, which was marked by several formal projects, sponsored by the Directorate of Scientific Research of the University of Tolima These works are a contribution to the expansion of the relative knowledge of the processes of settlement of pre-Hispanic societies, settled in the territory of the Alto Magdalena River and especially about the production of communication resources of these communities, characterized in the plastic form of engravings and stone paintings, found in different contexts of the Tolima landscape. Likewise, this publication exposes the theoretical difficulties for archaeological exploration and, as a methodological alternative, the criteria and procedures of landscape archeology, which assumes such cultural production as an integral part of the archaeological record, in the historical context of a given region. The set-up of this publication is the conjunction of an inter-institutional effort of the University of Tolima and the University of Ibague, to fulfill in a more effective way with the purpose of disseminating the results of scientific research on the cultural and social facts of the region
