Analysis of converter dephosphorization steelmaking technology at home and abroad

The large converter dephosphorization steelmaking process developed by advanced steel plants at home and abroad are introduced,and the technical and economic indice of the converter duplex melting process at eight large steel plants and their actual production results are compared and analyzed. There are mainly two operational methods of converter dephosphorization steelmaking process,which are duplex melting process and double slag process. Duplex melting process is simple compared with the conventional process,with larger free space in the converter,better reaction dynamics condition and lower production cost.By using duplex melting process,the phosphorus content in hot metal can be generally reduced to 0.010%. Therefore,it is suitable for the mass and economical production of ultra low phosphor steel.
