THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MICROSTRUCTURE AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF NEW 28GA STEEL FOR ANCHOR CHAINS GRADE 3

A new steel intended for use in grade 3 ship chain cables has been developed. The composition of the steel was calculated using established equations, fixing the mechanical properties of the steel with its chemical composition and heat treatment. Predicted values were checked during the experimental work. With the results obtained the authors proposed equations for steel properties prediction.
