Optimization for Short-Term Operation of Hybrid Hydro-PV Power System Based on NSGA-II

2020
Due to the uncertain, volatility and intermittent of photovoltaic (PV) power, it is an effective way to use hydropower to compensate photovoltaic (PV) power as hydropower can be regulated rapidly. Due to the clear differences in the characteristics of hydropower and PV power, it is important to achieve an optimal operation strategy for hybrid hydro-PV power system. This paper focuses on optimal short-term dispatching, and a joint optimal short-term dispatching model with objectives of the peak load capacity and load tracking ability is built. Three typical scenarios of PV power are first obtained by Fuzzy C-means (FCM) technique, Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm (NSGA-II) is adopted to solve this complex multi-objective problem. Case studies in a region of China demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model, and the results verify the superiority of the proposed method.
