Individual Identity and Contextualizations of Self

2015
This paper develops the idea that identity concerns a set of meanings arising from various contextualizations of self. It explores identity as a subjective construction, developed through social, professional, cultural and other interactions. It shows that this construction equally depends on the presence of an intentional object, which is itself always contextualized and therefore constantly changing. The article also invites consideration of the idea that these subjective constructions cannot hide a deeper identity that is based on an inner experience beyond all subjectification, such as the sense of identity and the sense of belonging.
