Synergistic effect of B-TiO2 and MIL-100(Fe) for high-efficiency photocatalysis in methylene blue degradation

2021
Abstract Dye wastewater effective treatment is vital and necessary for environmental projection. In current work, a novel and high-efficiency photocatalyst B-TiO2/MIL-100(Fe) composite was proposed and synthesized successfully by a simple co-precipitation method. Compared with the monomer B-TiO2, the photocatalytic performance of the composite was enhanced apparently under simulation solar irradiation. An increment in photocatalytic activity was attributed to the fact that B-TiO2/MIL-100(Fe) not only improved the photocatalytic efficiency of B-TiO2, but also promoted the photo-Fenton reaction of MIL-100(Fe). Besides, the efficiency of methylene blue (MB) mineralization was slightly lower than photocatalytic efficiency, the value of which was over 77.25%.
