Process for producing electrode for battery

2009
Disclosed is a process for producing an electrode for a battery, which can improve peel strength between a current collection foil and a mixture while realizing high-speed drying. An electrode production process (S1) comprises coating a mixture (3) containing an electrode active material (4) and a binder (5) onto a surface of a sheet-like current collection foil (2) and drying the mixture (3) to produce an electrode (1) for a battery comprising the current collection foil (2) and the mixture (3) bonded to each other. The electrode production process (S1) comprises the steps of coating the mixture (3) on one side of the current collection foil (2) and drying the mixture (3) coated onto the current collection foil (2). In the step of drying, the mixture (3) is dried in such a state that the face of the current collection foil (2) coated with the mixture (3) is disposed downward. As a result, independently of the low-speed drying or high-speed drying, the binder (5) contained in the mixture (3) can be collected at the interface of the current collection foil (2). Accordingly, the peel strength between the current collection foil (2) and the mixture (3) can be improved while realizing high-speed drying.
