Synaptic relation between neuropeptide Y axons and cholinergic neurons in the rat diagonal band of Broca

Abstract In the horizontal limb of the diagonal band of Broca of the rat, neuropeptide Y (NPY)-like immunoreactive fibers were shown to form synaptic contacts with cholinergic neuronal elements by using a double-immunostaining method at light and electron microscopic levels.
