Application of HL7® FHIR for device and health information system interoperability

Abstract “Devices on FHIR (Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources)” (DoF) is a collaborative effort that unites activities underway in HL7, Continua, IHE USA, and IHE International ( www.IHE.net , www.IHEUSA.org , www.HL7.org , www.PCHAlliance.org ). DoF is intended to ensure semantically consistent device information exchange whether achieved using current IHE Patient Care Devices (IHE-PCD) HL7 Version 2-based messaging or new, emerging IHE-PCD, and Continua integration profiles that embrace the HL7 FHIR-based resources and profiles.
