A Review of Grammar-Translation in Vocational Colleges English Teaching

Among various language teaching methods, Grammar-Translation method is the most traditional and common one. It has been long adopted by language teachers and proved effective in language teaching. Though criticized and challenged by some experts, it is still a very influential and effective way of teaching English to students in China. This paper intends to prove its effectiveness in English teaching by taking China’s learning environment into consideration.
