Youth Gun Violence Prevention Organizing

2021
Firearm-related injuries are one of the leading causes of death for young people in the United States. Young people, often singled out and preyed upon in the perpetuation of our toxic gun culture, have unique potential to dismantle American gun culture and bring about productive, intersectional approaches to confronting gun violence. This chapter explains the importance of young people for creating and destroying the modern American gun culture, the toxicity of American gun culture, and the importance of young voices to the growth and eventual success of the gun violence prevention movement.
