Effects of Selecting the Fitting Range for SAR Probe Calibration in Waveguide System

2018
The probe for measuring the specific absorption rate of mobile communication devices should be calibrated in that its output voltage is related to the electric field intensity at its tip. For the probe calibration, the electric field intensity should be scanned by the probe along the central axis of a waveguide system which is filled with the phantom liquid. In this paper, a method of selecting the fitting range of the exponential decay curve which should be used to determine the conversion factor of the probe. And we find that the boundary effect of the probe can be efficiently reduced by using a few of sampling points near the boundary.
