An Analytical Method for Optimal Frequency Regulation in Uncertain Multi-area Interconnected Smart Grids

2021
This paper studies the problem of optimal frequency regulation in uncertain multi-area interconnected smart grids, represented by a state space model, including turbine-governor performance. Our control objective is to accomplish remarkable property of the closed-loop system with parameter uncertainty and communication delay. A LMI-based decentralized robust model predictive control(LMI-DRMPC) scheme is proposed. Therefore, the decentralized state feedback control law is procured to adjust the frequency deviation with the minimum control force based on linear matrix inequalities(LMI). The MATLAB/Simulink simulation verifies that the method has good performance and robustness in dealing with uncertain multi-area interconnected smart grids.
