What Did Creative Partnerships Achieve?: A Review of the Creative Partnerships (CP) Research Archive

2018
Creative Partnerships (CP) was a major initiative of the UK government. From 2003–2011 artists and creative practitioners were funded to work with teachers in English schools to produce pedagogical and school reform. This chapter examines the research commissioned by CP to examine the evidence of its impact. The review shows strong evidence that CP schools changed their ethos; there was increased student attendance, motivation, engagement and wellbeing. Students also gained in social learnings – for example leadership, team work, collaboration. There is less evidence however about learning gains able to be measured through tests and exams.
