Numerical analysis of a self-adaptive formulation for the viscous/inviscid coupling

In this paper we consider the problem of the viscous/inviscid coupling, which often occurs in the study of fluids at high Reynolds number. We deal with a new formulation, introduced by Brezzi, Canuto and Russo [BCR], of a model convection-diffusion problem. In particular we perform the numerical analysis of this problem, proving the existence and convergence of some approximations of the exact solution obtained by applying the finite element method.
