Establishment of the national compact cyclotron and isotope production facility in Taiwan

1994
This paper describes the establishment of a modern T R30/15 compact cyclotron and radioisotope production facility in the Institute of Nuclear Energy Research (INER). The project was authorized in July 1990 and accomplished in July, 1993. This national project includes; (1) to design and establish a building which consists one cyclotron vault and four target caves, (2) to purchase and install a TR30/15 H7D'(30 MeV/ 15MeV, 350 v A/150 n A) cyclotron with four beam transport lines, (3) to purchase and install one 1-123 production target system and two solid target stations, (4) to design and install eight hot cells for radionuclide processing, (5) to design and establish two aspetic rooms for radiopharmaceutical R/D and production, (6) to establish an animal laboratory for radiopharmaceutical study and screening. The cyclotron and target system acceptance test have been accomplished since July 1993.
