Color digital holographic microscopy for in-flow observation of plankton microorganisms

The analysis of plankton microorganisms in surface water, such as ponds or rivers, is extremely valuable in environmental sciences. In this paper, a technique that we previously developed for color in-flow imaging with digital holographic microscopy (DHM), performs such an analysis, by using a fast automatic method for refocusing holograms, specific to color DHM, that we proposed besides. With this combination, we have obtained high quality refocused images of plankton microorganisms, for both intensity and optical phase.
