ANALYSIS OF VEHICLE BEHAVIOUR AT AN INTERSECTION AND GREEN SIGNAL THROUGHPUT

This paper describes how vehicle movement dynamics at an intersection were analyzed in order to show a model of vehicle queue behavior. A vehicle queue is known to diminish during a green signal period and grow during a red period. The analytic trajectory of each vehicle is described. The throughput is calculated and measured using the obtained results.
