Evaluación probabilista y espectral de la amenaza sísmica de Colombia y su uso en el nuevo código de puentes Probabilistic and spectral seismic hazard assessment of Colombia and its use in the new code of bridges

2015
In the framework of the update of the Colombian Code of Bridges, the Committee AIS-300 has developed a seismic hazard assessment at bedrock level, using updated information, if compared with the latest General Study on Seismic Hazard conducted for the Seismic Building Code, NSR-10, in terms of the employed catalog, with 5 years of additional information and the ground motion prediction equations, calibrated with local accelerograms. For this update, seismic hazard has been assessed with a probabilistic and spectral approach in order to define the values of the seismic coefficients denoted now as PGA, Ss and S1, associated, in this occasion to a probability of exceedance of 7% in 75 years, which is equivalent, approximately, to a mean return period of 975 years.
