Microstrip Dipole Antenna Analysis withDifferent WidthandLength at2.4 GHz

2005
Thispaperdiscusses thedesign and simulation ofmicrostrip dipole antenna at2.4GHz.In thisantenna design, Agilent's AdvancedDesign System (ADS)software using momentumsimulation isemployed toanalyze theentire structure. Different width (W=3,5,7,9mm)ofthearmofdipole antenna isanalyzed tostudy ontheperformance offrequency resonance. Fromthesimulation, thewider thewidth willlowertheresonance frequency oftheantenna. Different width makesthefrequency resonance ofthe antenna shifting lower orhigher than 2.4GHz.Inthis case, thelength (L)ofthedipole armisneeded tobe changed. Optimization value ofthelength isneeded to makethefrequency resonance at2.4GHz.The simulation result gives thebandwidth achieved ofthis microstrip dipole antenna isbetween IIand13%. Threedifferent widthofdipole antenna havebeen fabricated andpresented hereinthispaper. The properties ofantenna suchasinput return loss and bandwidth havebeeninvestigated andcompared between simulations.
