Research on Group Social Function and User Differentiation – A Case Study of WeChat and QQ

According to 2016 China Social Application User Behavior Research Report, instant messaging software has become an indispensable part of People's daily life. QQ and WeChat as typical communication software, there are some differences in their user groups. This paper studies the social behaviors of users of different age groups using WeChat and QQ through quantitative research. For example, communication, thumb up/sharing information, release/update status, information search, etc. In this way, it can be used to analyze the different age groups of users under the influence of which factors will increase or decrease the continued use of WeChat and QQ.
