Effect of foliar applied nutrients on soil chemical properties and nutrient uptake of baby corn (Zea mays L.)

2018
A field experiment was conducted at Zonal Agricultural Research Station, University of Agricultural Sciences, Gandhi Krishi Vignana Kendra, Bengaluru during kharif 2016 to study the effect of foliar application of macro and micro nutrients on chemical properties of baby corn (Zea mays L.). The experiment was laid out in a Randomised Complete Block Design with nine treatments replicated thrice. The higher nutrient uptake was noticed with foliar application of 75% RDF + 1.5% 19:19:19 spray + 0.2% ZnSO4 + 0.1% FeSO4 (208.09 kg N ha-1, 43.60 kg P2O5 ha-1, 227.91 kg K2O ha-1, 6.98 mg Zn kg-1 and 9.65 mg Iron kg-1, respectively) and was on par with application of 75% RDF + 1.5% 19:19:19 spray + 0.5% ZnSO4 + 0.1% FeSO4 (208.09 kg N ha-1, 43.60 kg P2O5 ha-1, 227.91 kg K2O ha-1, 6.98 mg Zn kg-1 and 9.65 mg Iron kg-1, respectively) compared to other treatments.
