An embodiment of the present invention discloses a music playing control method, comprising: when a smart watch obtains an operation instruction of initiating music playing, entering, by the smart watch, a music play mode, and obtaining a target user operation instruction on a crown; obtaining, by the smart watch according to a preset corresponding relationship between the user operation instruction on the crown and a music playing control instruction, a target music playing control instruction corresponding to the target user operation instruction; and controlling, by the smart watch, music playing according to the target music playing control instruction. An embodiment of the present invention further discloses a smart watch. According to the present invention, operation convenience of music playing is improved, enjoyment of playing music by using the smart watch is improved, and user experience of the smart watch is enhanced.
