Validation of the Tesla-Z Stability Analysis Framework by its Application to Experimental TWTS*

2021
We present results of our extensive validation study for the recently developed frequency-domain stability analysis framework 1 , which is based on an extended algorithm of the NRL 2D large-signal code TESLA-Z 2 and used to determine stability of the given Vacuum Electronic Device (VED). The used in the stability framework approach is based on the idea of finding gain matrix G for the given circuit and then performing analysis of its eigenvalues g on the complex plane to find critical solution g ≥ 1, which indicates on instability of the device according to the Nyquist net encirclement criteria.
