Medication detecting device

PURPOSE: To obtain a detecting mechanism capable of confirming correct drug taking out acts and discriminating those from wrong acts, by providing a means to measure an elapsed time between first and second electric signals generated corresponding to opening/closing of the opening of vessel, and means to judge and record whether the elapsed time is within an allowable range or not. CONSTITUTION: This device 10 includes a means to record opening/closing of a drug access port. The means can take a form of a switch to be physically engaged when a lid 12 is on a drug bottle and released when removed. The output of the switch 21 is supplied to a circuit board 22. The circuit uses a general purpose microprocessor 32. Drug delivery information generated by actuation of the switch 21 and filtered at a verification circuit is stored in a RAM 42 together with time information supplied by the micro processor. The information can be used through a data terminal 44 by a specialist who cares patient's health to determine medication times. COPYRIGHT: (C)1990,JPO
