Performance optimization of return-to-zero DPSK modulation in inter-satellite optical wireless communication
2016
Increased demand of multimedia services to the customer, lead to the development of mobile satellite communication. In this paper, inter-satellite optical wireless communication is implemented using RZ optical signal generated by cascaded mach-zehnder modulator. The pulse duty cycle of 33%, 50%, and 67% with the modulation technique used is DPSK The proposed system is designed and analyzed with the coverage distance of 6000 Km with the bit-rate of 10 Gbps and transmitted power of 30 dBm. The performance parameters of the system are Q factor, BER, this paper targets to achieve the value of greater than 7 and as low as 10 −9 respectively. The proposed system will be highly useful for present and next generation inter-satellite optical communication.
