Verification of Different Empirical Formulas for the Calculation of Turbulent Heat on the Snow Surface

2000
Heat balance of the snow surface serves as a basis for many research areas. The turbulent heat is one of its important parts. It is very hard to calculate the turbulent heat precisely because of its turbulence. Therefore empirical formulas are adopted in many cases in which no sufficient da ta are found. This paper calculates the turbulent heat by substituting the measu red data into 7 empirical formulas separately. By comparing the calculated resul ts with the actual melting amount of the snow surface, it is found that KUZMIN S formul_ [4] has least error.
