HAPPY WITH PAID PARKING

1996
Many municipalities have the policy of regulating parking in town centres with paid parking. The policy of paid parking is more general accepted by the public than road pricing and other kinds of electronic tolls on the main road network in the city. There is a better public acceptance for paid parking, but the Dutch government has the aim to promote road pricing to improve the mobility. Therefore a study has been done how to promote the electronic tolls looking for the reasons why paid parking has been accepted.
