Evaluation of tetraniliprole 200 sc against american serpentine leaf miner Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) and its impact on natural enemies in Tomato

2020
Two rounds of foliar application of tetraniliprole 200 SC @ 60 and 50 g a.i. ha−1 were found effective in reducing the damage caused by serpentine leaf miner, Liriomyza trifolii (Burgess) followed by its dose @ 40 g a.i. ha−1. Tetraniliprole 200 SC at all the test doses reduced slightly the natural enemies viz. coccinellids and spiders immediately after the spraying. The natural enemy population started increasing gradually ten d after spraying. Foliar application of tetraniliprole 200 SC @ 60, 120 and 240 g a.i. ha−1 did not cause any phytotoxic symptoms. At 60 g a.i. ha−1, it recorded maximum tomato yield of 38.08 and 42.20 t ha−1 with tomato hybrid US 3140 (Mahalakshmi) in the first and second season, respectively.
