Age-related changes of pull-dentin complex of human premolar

2004
To provide morphological basis for dental aging and senile teeth diseases and to study age-related changes of pulp-dentin complex of human premolar.Human premolars of different groups according to ages were decalcified, embedded in parafin and cut into slices. The slices were dyed by haema toxilin-erosin and were observed with microscopy. Then all slices were studied quantitatively by image analysis. Results:in dental pulp-dentin complex with aging, the pulp volumethe number of cells and blood vessels decreased;the fibers increased;calcium salts deposited and some of detinal tubules disappeared;the volume density of the pulp decreased and volume density of extracellular matrix increased. The changes between groups had significant difference. Conclusion:In dental pulp-dentin complex, the cell components decrease and the fibers components increase by aging.
