3D model retrieval using 2D cepstral descriptor of overlapping subbands

In this paper, a new 2D cepstral descriptor will be proposed for 3D model retrieval. In the proposed approach, the overlapping subband decomposition will be employed to divide each 2D spectrum into a number of overlapped subbands for further 2D cepstral descriptor extraction. Experiments conducted on the Princeton Shape Benchmark (PSB) database have shown that the proposed 2D cepstral descriptor yields better retrieval accuracy than traditional 2D cepstral descriptors and outperforms other state-of-the-art descriptors in terms of the discounted cumulative gain (DCG) score.
