The invention discloses a prefabricated material suitable for electric power steel structure weld crack defects and a preparation method thereof. The prefabricated material comprises three layers which are respectively an inorganic high temperature resistant layer, a carbon fiber tow layer and an inorganic high temperature resistant layer in sequence from top to bottom; the preparation method comprises the steps that firstly a PVA high temperature water soluble film matrix is coated with inorganic high temperature resistant glue, then stretched and straight carbon fiber tows are paved on the surface of the inorganic high temperature resistant glue in parallel, then the surface of the carbon fiber tow layer is coated with one layer of inorganic high temperature resistant glue to pack, after being packed, the whole is put into a vacuum high temperature furnace to dry and solidify, and is put into hot water to dissolve the PVA film matrix after being dried, and vacuum drying is performed. The prepared prefabricated defect material is not over 0.5mm thick, is easy to cut and process, can be used for precisely prefabricating and simulating the weld crack defects, and is widely used in the scientific research and test aspects of the steel structure weld crack defects.
