Synthesis and characterizations of charge-transfer complexes of 1.8-naphthalimides with different acceptors

Five new Charge-Transfer (CT) complexes, formed from the of 4-substituted-N-allyl-1.8-naphthalimide derivatives as donors and σ-acceptor (iodine or π-acceptors) have been investigated. The data obtained indicate the formation of CT-complexes with the general formula of [(donors)(acceptor)n], where n= 1 in the case of [(donors)]I2, [(donors)(DDQ)], [(donors)(CLA)], [(donors)(PA)] complexes and [(donors)(TCNQ)] except for [(4MAN)(TCNQ)2], and [(4PAN)(TCNQ)2] where n = 2.
