Optical properties of CaAl_2SiO_6:Eu~(2+) phosphors prepared by a sol-gel method

2008
CaAl2SiO6∶Eu2+ phosphors were prepared by the sol-gel method. The structure and optical properties of phosphors were studied by X-Ray diffraction(XRD),fluorescence spectrophotometer and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC).The results indicate that the crystal of CaAl2SiO6 formed when CaAl2SiO6∶Eu2+ were sintered at 1 000 ℃.The emission peak located at about 430 nm of CaAl2SiO6∶Eu2+ originates from the transition 4f65d1(t2g) →4f7(8S7/2) of Eu2+ in CaAl2SiO6 phosphors. With the Eu2+ concentration increasing, the Luminous intensity of the samples increased firstly, and then decreased.when the concentration of Eu2+ was 0.7 mol%,the Luminous intensity was maximum. The excitation peaks of CaAl2SiO6∶Eu2+ phosphors are in the range of 280-390 nm,which can be used as a new type of UV-LED trichromatic fluorescent powder.
