One-step preparation of graphene oxide/silica nanoparticles superhydrophobic coating for enhanced anti-corrosion performance

2022
Abstract With property of retaining air gaps between solid substrates and corrosive liquids, superhydrophobic surface materials are endowed with greatly improved corrosion resistance. In this study, a simple, one-step, and efficient photopolymerization-induced method is developed to fabricate superhydrophobic anti-corrosive surface containing graphene oxide and silica nanoparticles. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy reveals that the superhydrophobic surface effectively improved anti-corrosion properties. Furthermore, this method is rapid and inexpensive; therefore, it may lead to the expansion of the applications of metal substrates in the future.
