Structure Optimization and Design Method of Water Well-Distributed Sieve-Plate for Vertical Water Coolers

Cooling water is not distributed well in each heat transfer tubes which makes the operation efficiency of vertical water coolers low. This paper briefly analyzes the problem of distribution structure commonly used in industry. The new theory of pond distribution sieve-plate is proposed. Optimization study of structure parameter and stimulated experiments shows that the key parameter of the distribution technology is the water depth in the pond, which is just on the sieve-plate. When the depth is more than 125 mm, the overall evenness of water distribution can be more than 85%. Thus, the common problem of water not being well-distributed is solved satisfactorily. This distribution technology has simple structure and the design method is easy, so it can be applied in industry conveniently.
