Receiver, receiving method, and a transmitter

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiver capable of controlling non-display/display of a message presentation for each IC card or the like by the channel of the same broadcasting organization.SOLUTION: A receiver 100 comprises: a receiving unit which receives EMM common messages including routine sentence data and first data to identify the EMM common messages of each channel; a reading unit which reads an EMM individual message including specifying data to specify a message routine sentence and second data to indicate Present/Not Present a message; a select unit which selects routine sentence data of the EMM common message corresponding to the specifying data in the received EMM common messages; a transmission line for transmitting the routine sentence data to a display unit; a changeover unit for switching the connection between the select unit and the display unit; and a calculating unit for switching the connection of the changeover unit based on a logical product of the first data and the second data. The changeover unit disconnects between the select unit and the display unit if the logical product indicates "Not Present", and it connects between them when the logical product indicates "Present".SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
