Optimal Control Parameters of Battery Storage System for Frequency Regulation and Economic Analysis

The independent small power grid is difficult to maintain frequency stability. To tackle this challenge, battery storage system (BSS) is employed for frequency regulation. However, due to the high cost of BSS, the economy of frequency regulation of thermal power units assisted by BSSis difficult to evaluate, which hinders the application of BSS. In this paper, an economic analysis model for joint frequency regulation is proposed considering the thermal power unit frequency regulation wear and BSS battery aging cost. According to the economic analysis model, the economic benefit of joint frequency regulation is quantified, and the operational control parameters of BSS are optimized. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, BSS greatly reduces the cost of the joint frequency regulation. At the same time, the optimal control parameters are obtained, which has important guiding significance for the actual operation of BSS.
