Balanced SIW BPF based on Through-Glass Vias*

A balanced substrate integrated waveguide bandpass filter (SIW BPF) based on stacked through-glass via (TGV) tehnology is proposed in this letter to reduce the noise caused by common mode (CM) signals. The wide passband is constructed by differential mode signals of TE 102 in SIW cavities. The accurate wideband equivalent circuit model beginning from the three order Chebyshev low-pass filter to the final optimized SIW BPF are established by the ADS software, which accords well with the 3D full-wave EM field simulation of Ansoft's HFSS with the operating frequencies up to 180 GHz.
