Strain Specificity of the Effect of Including Lactic Acid Bacteria in the Diet on the Induction of Dimethylhydrazine (DMH) Tumouro Genesis

1996
ABSTRACTA 6-month experiment was carried out for screening determination of the strain specificity of the yoghurt bacteria by including them in freeze-dreed fermented milk (FDFP) on a model of experimentally induced DMH tumour formation, induced according to a model modified by us with 10 weekly subcutaneous injections of DMH in a dose of 20 mg/kg b.m. The experiment was conducted on 312 male Wistar rats with initial body mass of 80 ± 10 g, distributed in two control and eleven experimental groups with 24 animals each. A complex pathohistological and statistical analysis was made on the total number of tumours induced, on their histological type, invasiveness, metastases, size and localizations in the small and large intestines under the effect of different FDFP diets. A very high anti tumour effect of FDFP-LBB.BY.XI or FDFP-LBB.BY.XII and a high degree of antitumour effect of FDFP-LBB.T.VI1I or FDFP-LBB.T.IX were obtained. Their application is recommended as prophylactic and therapeutic diets inhibiting ...
