Water hyacinth, Eichhornia crassipes, is considered as one of the world’s worst weeds. They successfully invaded lakes, ponds, canals, and rivers. It is still rapidly spreading into many countries,influencing local environmental and agriculture cultural problems. The aim of this chapter is to summarize the effects caused by E. crassipes invasions in china, discuss the causes and consequences of the effects, and propose control creative E. crassipes methods. At present, solutions for preventing the spread of water hyacinth mainly include three general categories: physical, chemical and biological control. Water hyacinth population can be reduced and controlled by using an integrated management approach, and promote a long term sustainable approach for effective water management.
