Interrogator, the responder, the position detecting method and position detecting program

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position detection system and the like capable of specifying a distance between objects and positions of the objects themselves while taking advantage of the low power consumption and distance measurement ability of the radio communication of the UWB method. SOLUTION: In a position detection system including a plurality of interrogators PCn each for transmitting a pulse signal as an interrogating wave and a radio tag TGn for receiving the pulse signal and returning a corresponding response signal, a distance between interrogators PCn is detected by receiving pulse signals transmitted by the interrogators PCn, a distance from each interrogator PCn to the tag TGn is detected based on the pulse signal and the response signal, and positions of the interrogators PCn and transponders TGn in the position detection system are detected, respectively based on the detected distances.
