Pipeline: Data Analysis

2016
Analysis of a large-scale genomics data set requires a strategic plan with built-in flexibility. All studies should have a list of preconceived questions to start the analysis process. A diverse analysis team composed of clinicians, genomic experts, statisticians, and other relevant experts allows a comprehensive analysis approach. Data analysis working groups should be centrally managed by a coordinator who hosts periodic meetings and distributes information. Expectations for contribution and an authorship model should be established at the start of analysis and explained clearly for all participants. The data set for each publication should be defined clearly and the analysis approach must remain current.
