Monitoring the Performance of the Earnshaw Street Infiltration Basin at Golden Beach

Best management practices such as infiltration basins are commonly becoming accepted practices for removing pollutants from stormwater runoff. An infiltration basin has recently been installed at Earnshaw Street in Golden Beach. Experienced environmental engineers as well as landscape architects designed the basin and immediate landscape to ensure that it would be seamlessly integrated into the existing park and environment. Installation of the infiltration basin at Golden Beach is anticipated to treat diverted storm water from the existing Earnshaw Street catchment before it is discharged into the Passage. This action will provide an opportunity to significantly reduce waterway pollution that is being created in this area and currently making its way, untreated into the ocean.; Submitted in the fulfilment of the requirements of the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) (Hons), University of the Sunshine Coast, 2016.
